WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING? IS A PATHETIC OPENING LINE!
Why do we ask that question? I think it’s so we can sort those we think we can sell something to or do business with in some way away from those we perceive have no value to us. By getting rid of them quickly we can then sort the next person, and the next, until we get to someone we perceive to be valuable. What a waste of our time, and how insulting to others. To say hello and know that you have no intention of following up is selfish.
I promise you that every person reading this email is someone I can help in some way, but if they are bent on selling me something or think that doing business together trumps all other conversations, they have already lost the opportunity! What about asking the question, “How can I help you do better right now?” There you go, now we have an opportunity for a real and important conversation and we are in a state of giving not selling!
We work with people we know, like and trust, so let’s start there.
I hope you’ll come and meet my network tonight in San Jose at the Corinthian Grand Ballroom! Tickets are here:
You leave with much more than you came with, if you shift your conversation.
Tickets are always available for each event on our website until 6pm day of the event for $20, or are available for $30 Cash at the door until 7:30 pm. Please take a look at our Website, read the reviews, join our groups and social media pages on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter; and share this with others at http://www.TheArtofActiveNetworking.com
Love to see this growing in San Jose!
